They’re taking part in the wine fair as part of the Sustainable European Food & Wines campaign

From 6 to 8 November, wines from the La Mancha Designation of Origin were present at the 21st edition of the ENOEXPO Krakow International Fair. The event is well known for being popular with wine sector producers, importers and distributors keen to make contact with each other within the Central European region, where La Mancha wines already have a significant market. In fact, in 2023, with 856,677 bottles (0.75 cl) imported, Poland consolidated its position as second European buyer (sixth worldwide) in the marketing rankings of destination countries.

Sustainable European Food & Wines

Attendance at ENOEXPO Krakow was possible as part of the series of actions outlined in the Sustainable European Food & Wines programme, undertaken jointly with the Slovak Chamber of Food and Beverages (PKS), Azafrán de La Mancha DO, Jumilla DO and Almansa DO.

Participation in ENOEXPO took the form of a stand shared with the other partners where a tasting area was set up featuring 15 wines from the 12 La Mancha wineries:

    • Bodega El Vínculo
    • Bodegas Ayuso
    • Bodegas Campos Reales
    • Bodegas Cristo de la Vega
    • Bodegas Don Octavio
    • Bodegas El Progreso
    • Bodegas Isidro Milagro / Bodegas Campoameno
    • Bodegas Latúe
    • Bodegas Puente de Rus
    • Bodegas Verdúguez
    • Finca Antigua
    • Santa Catalina

In addition, on 7 November and as part of the activities held at ENOEXPO, a seminar was held focusing on the sustainability of La Mancha wine-growing and including a tasting of several wines from partners of the Sustainable European Food & Wines programme.

Final stretch of the year

In the same context of actions framed within the Sustainable European Food & Wines campaign, the plan is to close the international promotion on European Community soil with a wine tunnel in Hamburg, northern Germany. This country continues to be the most important market for La Mancha DO wines abroad.

Meanwhile, in Asia the seminars held under the European Wine Ambassadors promotional programme will close the DO’s overseas marketing activities for 2024.
