THE REGULATORY BOARD STEPS UP ITS SPRINGTIME OVERSEAS PROMOTION BY ATTENDING ONE OF THE MAJOR TRADE FAIRS ON THE ASIAN CONTINENT.
From 28 to 30 May, more than 1,000 exhibitors from 35 countries make Vinexpo Hong Kong the key event for the wine trade in the Asian market. According to the organisation’s own sources, some 10,000 people are expected to attend the fair. It’s hoped the event will breathe new life into the Chinese market in particular, after the fall in demand in terms of value and volume reflected by OeMv reports in 2023.

News, trends and consumption
Vinexpo Asia, held since 1998, alternates its event venue between Singapore and Hong Kong, positioning itself as a benchmark and gateway for the main Chinese markets and the Asian market. Its importance also lies in being a showcase and a gauge for current consumption trends that serve as guidance for the wine industry.
The fair is expected to attract a wide range of professional visitors from sectors connected to hospitality, including wholesale and retail traders, buyers, restaurateurs, sommeliers and importers.
Vinexpo will also feature a diverse programme of events, tastings, shows, talks and discussion round tables, making it a valuable experience for exchanging innovation and development.
Presence of La Mancha DO wines
A business opportunity that La Mancha Designation of Origin wines certainly do not want to waste, especially in the current climate in which the demand and consumption of wine in countries like China is reflecting a gradual decline, although with 1,222,545 bottles (0.75 cl) sold last year, it was still the main eastern customer for La Mancha wineries.
The Regulatory Board is attending Vinexpo Hong Kong with its own 24 m2 stand equipped with a tasting tunnel and meeting tables for business meetings.
